This Privacy Policy explains what information Sandook collects, why it is collected and how it is used. Sandook is an early-stage product (MVP) and this policy will be updated as the product develops.
Sandook is a digital wardrobe. It lets you photograph or upload garments, catalogue them, create outfits, moodboards and curations, keep track of purchase information, and choose what you want to share publicly.
When you create an account, Sandook stores the details you provide: your name, handle, email address, and any optional details you choose to add such as date of birth, location, bio, style preferences or contact details.
If you register with an email address and password, your email address is stored with your account and your password is handled by Sandook's authentication provider in hashed form. Sandook never stores your password in readable form.
You can sign in with a Google account. Google Sign-In is used for authentication only. Sandook receives basic account information such as your name, email address and profile picture where available, and may use it to prefill your profile. Sandook does not access your Gmail messages, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts or any other Google service.
Your profile (photo, name, handle, bio, style tags, followers and following) is stored so it can be shown to you and, where you choose, to other people.
Photos of garments, outfits, moodboard images and profile pictures are stored so your wardrobe works across sessions and devices. Both the original image and the processed version may be retained so items can be re-processed or corrected.
Uploaded photos are processed automatically to detect garments, crop them and remove backgrounds, and to suggest attributes such as category, colour or season. This processing uses third-party image and AI services, including Photoroom for background removal. Images are sent to these services only to produce the result shown in your wardrobe. Automatic detection is not always accurate and you can edit or delete any item.
Items, outfits, moodboards, curations, wear history and favourites are stored against your account. Boards and profile content are private unless you mark them public.
Content you choose to make public, or share through a link or share sheet, can be seen by others. You decide what becomes public and can change it at any time.
If you upload an invoice, the image and the information you or Sandook extract from it (such as brand, item, price and date) are stored and linked to the relevant garments so Sandook can show spending information. Extracted values may be inaccurate and can be edited.
Sandook may show links to retailers or product pages. Those sites are run by third parties and have their own privacy practices.
Sandook uses cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic app preferences. No advertising cookies are used.
To create and secure your account, provide wardrobe and styling features, process uploaded images, show your own data back to you, support sharing you have chosen, and improve reliability of the service.
Sandook relies on third-party providers for hosting, database and authentication, and for image and AI processing (including Photoroom). These providers process data on Sandook's behalf in order to run the service.
Access to your data is restricted to your account, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Information is kept while your account exists, and deleted or anonymised when you delete your account or the data is no longer needed. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
You can access, correct, export or delete your information, including deleting individual items or your whole account. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local data-protection law.
Sandook does not sell your personal information.
Sandook is not intended for children under 13.
This policy may be updated as Sandook develops. The date at the top shows the latest version.
